Following the decision by City & Hackney CCG and Hackney’s public health function to run a second year of the joint grant fund, the Healthier City and Hackney Grant Fund for 2019/20 was launched on the 8th October 2018.

The scheme allows the CCG and the Public Health Team to work with organisations from across the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors to create innovative solutions to long standing, large scale health issues, and to test ideas for new ways to deal with old problems.

The £500,000 grant fund brings together the CCG Innovation Fund and the council’s Healthier Hackney Fund.

This year’s grant streams, co-produced by residents, are:

The Healthy Activities fund offers grants up to £60,000 to run practical activities addressing a given priority health issue

The Healthy Ideas fund offers grants of up to £20,000, to develop and pilot a new approach to tackling a particular priority health issue.

The Healthy Next Generation fund offers grants of up to £8,000 for projects in Hackney addressing childhood obesity.
