City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are looking for a Chair and Vice-Chair for our Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP).
What is a MVP?
MVPs are partnerships of maternity service-users/user representatives and maternity professionals that come together in order to make maternity services as good as they can be. They are particularly concerned with ensuring that women’s voices are listened to and inform the way in which maternity care is commissioned and provided.
What will the Chair and Vice-Chair Do?
The MVP will meet every other month and the Chair and vice-chair roles involve up to about 5 days a month in total but this is in short sessions rather than whole days so will normally fit in with family life. Chairs and vice-chairs are usually women that have used maternity services recently or people that work in voluntary groups that support pregnant women and new parents. Experience of chairing other groups is useful but not essential.
What it’s like to be an MVP Chair?
‘I’ve been involved with our MVP for nearly 6 years. And have been a Chair for 2. I wanted to be part of something that stood for supporting families and being a voice for those that we don’t really hear from. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. It’s been a wonderful way to learn about the maternity services and it’s been a great way to meet people and hear about their maternity experiences.’ Toyin MVP Chair London
Expenses and an involvement payment will be offered to our Chair and vice-chair.
What are we looking for?
We are also looking for regular MVP members that are women or fathers that have used maternity services recently and would like to work with us. This will just involve attending a meeting every 2 months
Please send an expression of interest to email@example.com answering the below questions by 5pm on Friday 27 April 2018
