In March 2017 we facilitated a workshop aimed at discussing the future of the PPI structures in the new Integrated Commissioning landscape. The first part of the event was focused on the new Involvement Alliance model and the second part on Integrated Commissioning and what the principles underlining involvement into it should be.
During October-December 2016 a number of meetings and events took place to inform and engage local residents in discussions about the future of health and social care services in City and Hackney. These discussions were focused on 1) Hackney Devolution Pilot and what it means for patients and residents and 2) Integrated Commissioning and CCG’s commissioning intentions for 2017/18 and 18/19.
A public event to discuss the future of health and social care services in City and Hackney takes place at St Joseph's Hospice on Tuesday 28 June 2016, 6-9pm. Find out about, discuss, and have your say on Hackney’s five year plan for local health and social care, and Hackney’s piloting of local decision making. What does it mean for our area and for you and your family? How can we improve things locally in the face of funding pressures? How can we all work better together? What are your concerns? What are your priorities? How can we keep you informed?

In October 2015 we worked together with our patient representatives, Hackney Council and a number of local organisations to raise awareness of ‘5 to Thrive’. 5 to Thrive is a new campaign to raise awareness of the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’; a set of five simple things that people can do to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The five ways are: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.
Series of events and activities took place during the week beginning 5th of October. Click here for more information or contact the CCG on 0207 683 4222 to find out how you can get involved in future events.
Our second Annual General Meeting took place at the Geffrye Museum and was really well attended by patients, members of the public, GPs and other professionals from across City and Hackney, representatives from both Healthwatch groups, other stakeholders, and CCG staff.
The meeting opened with a short film about our Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) work, including an insight into the work of our patient reps, and continued with a presentation of highlights from the nine programme boards from Chair Clare Highton. Further presentations on the organisation’s financial position and PPI activities followed, along with a question and answer session with Clare, Chief Financial Officer Philippa Lowe and Chief Officer Paul Haigh.
The event also acted as the official ‘launch’ of our Annual Report and Accounts (PDF).
