Recruiting Service Users to influence decisions

Dear Local Resident,

City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) would like to hear from you.

The CCG has been operating since 01 April 2012 as part of the transition to take over the commissioning role from the former Primary Care Trust. The CCG will be responsible for commissioning specific healthcare services from 01 April 2013 as part of the Government’s reforms of the National Health Service.

The City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group has 8 Programme Boards responsible for the assessment, planning, purchasing, monitoring and reviewing of specific healthcare services in the local boroughs of City of London and Hackney.

The following 4 Program Boards are currently seeking volunteers to contribute to the design and review of healthcare pathways.

  1. Mental Health Services
  2. Prescribing Services
  3. Urgent Care
  4. Planned Care, joint role with Long Term Conditions covering conditions such as:
    1. Asthma
    2. Cancer
    3. Cardiovascular disease
    4. COPD
    5. Diabetes
    6. End of Life Care
    7. Rheumatology, and other conditions.

The Programme Boards meet monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly to assess current issues, plan corrective interventions and monitor progress against agreed actions. To ensure local residents are informed, involved and influencing decisions regarding their local services, the Programme Boards are inviting one service user each to join their board and share their views and help design services that meet the needs of local residents.

Service users will play an important role in helping develop robust mechanisms to ensure that services are:

  • Accessible and effectively communicating with patients,
  • Operating in a time sensitive and efficient manner,
  • Providing sufficient information to allow informed decision making at all times,
  • Providing good quality care,
  • Using efficient processes that deliver positive patient experiences.

We invite you to get in touch and help to design high quality, safe and patient friendly services in your local area.

Stay informed, get involved and help to influence improvements.

To join us, contact us and tell us which program board you are interested in supporting.
