The Abney House Medical Centre will be permanently closed from 20 October 2019 after the end of the contract that provides GP services.
City and Hackney CCG is working with NHS England to ensure that the services or treatment patients receive will continue as normal following the closure of the Stoke Newington-based practice.
Local patients have been reassured with a letter which provides information about the closure, as well as guidance and contact details to register with one of 15 nearby GP practices who have additional capacity for the 2,700 currently registered at Abney House.
In addition to receiving a letter informing them of the closure and the need to register with a new practice, two patient information events have also been arranged on the 15 August, at Abney House, to provide an opportunity for patients to ask any questions to practice and NHS staff.
Any patients who have not registered with a new practice by 20 October 2019 will be transferred automatically to another practice with any related medical records. Vulnerable residents will be offered additional support by the practice during this time.
We would urge patients who have any questions regarding the closure to speak directly to Abney House Medical Centre. You can also contact the CCG using the following email address: CAHCCG.firstname.lastname@example.org.
