Bereavement Service for Young People and Families

In partnership with City & Hackney CCG, St Joseph’s has been commissioned to provide a specialist bereavement support service for children and young people who have experienced the death of a relative, caregiver or significant other from COVID-related symptoms. The service is being provided through its Patient & Family Counselling Team. Drawing upon art psychotherapy, social work and therapeutic counselling, the service will work in a systemic way with the child and the caregivers to strengthen bonds and resources within the family

The service is available for any child or young person up to the age of 18 who either lives in City & Hackney or are registered with a City & Hackney GP. Families can self-refer for an assessment, via our First Contact team on 0300 303 0400, or a referral can be made by any external social or health care professional on behalf of the child or young person.
